For Gethard - Anonymous asks: Hey, since you’ve kinda become tumblr’s advice guy, I have a question. So I recently started seeing someone, things have gotten interesting. During our first date we had a really easy, unforced chemistry that felt great, I was really enthusiastic about the relationship. However, on our second date we actually did the whole “sit down and talk about important things like religion and feminism and stuff” and none of that easy chemistry was there. Now I’m not sure how to proceed. Any ideas?

YEAH I GOT AN IDEA. DON’T TALK ABOUT RELIGION AND FEMINISM ON YOUR SECOND DATE. YOU HAVEN’T HAD NEARLY ENOUGH FUN TOGETHER YET THAT YOU CAN PULL OFF TALKING ABOUT “RELIGION AND FEMINISM AND STUFF”. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FUCKING DENTIST’S APPOINTMENT OF A SECOND DATE. BIG FUCKING SURPRISE THAT TALKING ABOUT TWO ULTRA-SENSITIVE TOPICS ON YOUR SECOND DATE KILLED THE CHEMISTRY. YOU FORGOT TO BRING UP THE TWO OTHER GO TO SECOND DATE TOPICS OF RACIAL LYNCHINGS AND THE TRIANGLE SHIRTWAIST FIRE. IF I WAS ON A SECOND DATE AND SOMEONE BROUGHT UP RELIGION OR FEMINISM I WOULD LITERALLY INTERRUPT THEM, END THE DATE, GO HOME, AND JERK OFF. JESUS CHRIST.

SORRY I’M BEING A DICK ON THIS ONE, BUT COME ON.

- GETH
